Innovations

The unique GrahamTek™ technologies significantly refine existing Reverse Osmosis desalination technologies and redefine conventional Micro & Ultra Filtration membrane separation technologies. The innovations offer the only systems available in the world today that prevent fouling and scaling during operation, eliminating the need for chemicals and achieving higher performances than conventional, higher energy reliant water treatment systems.

Integrated Flow Distributor:Flow Distributor
This feature is incorporated at the front end of the spiral wound membrane elements and generates a higher flux with improved recoveries through the continuous disruption of the concentration polarization on the membrane surface releasing micro-bubbles, thereby improving the cross-flow shear force, easing mass transfer across the membrane surface. The micro bubbles generated, actively scour the membrane surface preventing foulants from settling.

Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) Device:Electro Magnetic Field Device
This device is encapsulated within the pressure vessels and is applied throughout the length of each vessel and prevents fouling on the membrane surface by inhibiting active crystal formation. Crystals that form under these conditions are amorphous and therefore do not grow or scale. The water in the feed channel is encapsulated by the electro magnetic field, generating a net movement in the direction of the concentrated stream. All the ions within the concentrated stream become electrically charged, inducing the feed channel to act as a semi-conductor, which moves forward in the direction of the magnetic field.

16" Vessel

World First 16" Spiral Wound Membrane Element:16" vs 8" membrane
These novel 16-inch spiral wound membrane elements provide a large membrane surface area in a parallel configuration, supplying larger-scale modularity for larger volume applications. The dimensions of a 16" diameter x 50" length element with a surface area 1700ft2 is equivalent to four conventional 8" x 40" membrane elements. (Conventional spiral wound elements are only 8" in diameter).
