GrahamTek Products
GrahamTek Singapore provides the design, supply , fabrication and installation of complete RO systems and skids and warrants their performance .

GrahamTek RO membranes:

GrahamTek 16 inch RO membranes are manufactured by reputable membrane suppliers such as Hydranautics and SAEHAN who manufacturers the membranes for GrahamTek under licensing arrangements.

large diameter membrane loading device:

For loading of the large diameter elements into the 16 inch diameter vessels, GrahamTek has designed a membrane loader device which is mounted on top of a scissors lift device. This device allows loading of membranes into vessels of various heights in an RO skid.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the flow distributor ?
The flow distributor is a patented device that is fitted on both ends of the spiral-wound membrane element. It replaces the commonly used standard anti-telescoping device (ATD). For a 16-inch membrane element, the inlet flow distributor has several angled and evenly-distributed holes while the outlet flow distributor has a combinations of 2 sizes of holes.

How does the flow distributor enhance the performance of the RO membranes?

The flow distributor is designed to provide an even distribution of feed water entering each membrane element. The flow distributor also promotes additional turbulence which acts to lower the concentration polarization and allows the membrane element to operate at higher flux.

What is the effect of the EMF on the performance of the RO membranes ?

An embedded electrical coil throughout the length of the pressure vessel generates electromagnetic fields (EMF) that controls fouling on the membrane surface by altering the formation of aggregated material rejected by the membrane. EMF fields can also physically move particles away from the membrane surface, allowing them to be swept away by the bulk stream.

What are the benefits of the GrahamTek RO system compared to the 8 inch RO system and to other large diameter membranes ?

The active membrane area of a 16-inch RO membrane element is several times larger than that of an 8-inch RO membrane element. Therefore the number of 16-inch RO membrane elements required to provide a specific active membrane area will be significantly less than the required number of 8-inch elements. This also suggests that using a 16-inch RO system could result in a more compact and simpler plant while achieving similar productivity. Fewer pressure vessels, connecting joints and pipes are required and this leads to lower capital costs and potential cost savings for maintenance and operation, particularly for large-scale RO systems

GrahamTek R & D Team
In a meeting held in Singapore in April 2006, the GrahamTek Scientific Program was initiated. The objective of the Program is not to prove that GrahamTek technology works, but,
a) to demonstrate conclusively why it works so well;
b) simultaneously explore optimizing the various elements of the technology.
